What would a friends blog be without a song for my best friend? Trust means a lot to my wife Kellie. That’s why I wrote and recorded this song behind her back.
This song was written about a very special moment in my life. It happened while we and some friends went out to the corn maze a few years ago. It was nearing the end of fall, so all of the trees were shades of red, yellow, orange, and gold. It was very dark and chilly, and for anyone who has been to the corn maze, you know its huge and entirely possible to get lost in. For a moment, Kellie and I found ourselves alone on top of a tower that stands in the middle of the huge field. I remember it so vividly because the moon was a piercing redish orange like I’ve never seen it before, blotting out the stars in the night sky and casting a fiery hue across the cornfields. It looked like an ocean of fire. It was in this moment that we did my favorite thing; we danced. Slow and sweet. I’ll never forget it as long as I live.
Here’s to my wife and my best friend. Let’s dance.
And We Dance – Kellie’s Song
